Pamela Moore Joins The Vella Group

The Vella Group welcomes Pamela Moore to our philanthropy consulting team as partner, organizational development. A native Detroiter, Pamela brings more than 35 years of nonprofit and public-sector experience to our group. In her new role, she will help our nonprofit partners build strategic relationships and guide them in key areas: organizational structure and growth, budget management, fund and board development, and more.

Before joining The Vella Group, Pamela spent seven years as president and CEO of the Detroit Public Schools Foundation. During her tenure, the foundation granted more than $25 million to 50,000 Detroit Public Schools Community District students, 38,000 families and 4,000 educators in Michigan’s largest public school district. Grants focused on early childhood education, literacy, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math), career pathways and experiences beyond the classroom.

She has worked with Detroit’s last three mayors and was the founding president and CEO of Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation. There, she created a high-performing public workforce nonprofit agency, one that was recognized by the White House.

Pamela earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA from Wayne State University. In her leisure time, she travels the world, mentors youth and is a dance instructor.
