Position Title: Program Associate
Reports To: Vice-President, Community Engagement and Planning and COO
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time w/benefits (Hybrid)

Our mission is to catalyze neighborhoods where people live, work, and play in Detroit’s North End community. Responsibilities
The Program Associate will support community engagement and planning activities which requires comprehension and information dissemination of all relevant programs, initiatives and projects. The position requires a highly organized individual with exceptional interpersonal skills responsible for scheduling, and coordinating targeted communications via various media, and managing all aspects of community meetings.
Essential Functions
- Serve as a liaison to all key stakeholders including residents, businesses, and project partners
- Assist with coordination of the Community Cabinet quarterly meetings, overseeing the Community calendar, event notifications and neighborhood events/meetings.
- Develop and nurture community stakeholder relationships and lend support to promote collaboration with neighboring communities.
- Assist with preparing reports and correspondence, managing project deadlines and deliverables
- Ensure communication materials are distributed in a timely manner
Position Requirements
- BS required, Masters in Planning preferred with 3-5 years experience preferred
- Familiarity with City of Detroit organizational structure and District Managers a plus
- Familiarity with local neighborhood economic development projects preferred
- Experience planning and facilitating community meetings; familiar with Community Benefits Agreements
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills required; comfortable with public speaking and engaging diverse audiences
- Manage multiple projects and track reporting requirements and outcomes
- Manage collaborations and partnerships with partners and key stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work on project teams as well as autonomously
- Familiar with Google platforms and tools

Responsibilities
The Executive Assistant will provide general administrative support to the President and CEO to ensure that responsibilities and obligations are met, the operations of the organization are managed efficiently, communications flow smoothly, records are maintained, schedules are coordinated, and key stakeholders and visitors are appropriately greeted, engaged and served.
Essential Functions
- Serve as administrative support for the President and CEO including preparing documents, scheduling meetings, tracking projects, maintaining records and files.
- Assist the leadership team with tasks as needed (i.e. scheduling in-person and Zoom meetings, tracking projects, maintaining records, drafting correspondence, following up with constituent requests, general office duties.
- Assist with events – ordering supplies, reserving venues, coordinating vendors, preparing and distributing communications
- Monitor and respond to or delegate phone, email and website communications
- Assist with mailings and large projects
- Support board and other meetings as needed
Position Requirements
- High School Graduate with 3-5 years experience supporting an executive. Bachelor’s degree and non-profit experience preferred.
- Ability to work autonomously with little supervision, as well as be part of a fast-paced team.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient with Google software, and social media platforms
- Personal Transportation – Some local travel required
- Create banners, flyers and materials for events and social media posts (Canva) is a plus!
